Tridium’s Niagara Framework 4.14 | What’s New in the Update?

Exploring the Niagara Framework

In our previous blog, Unveiling the Powerhouse Duo: Tridium’s Niagara Framework 4.13 and JACE 9000 Hardware, we explored how smart technology is reshaping the landscape of building management. We discussed how Tridium has emerged as a pioneering force with the launch of two groundbreaking solutions: the Niagara Framework 4.13 and the new-generation JACE 9000 hardware. Niagara continues to evolve across the five dimensions of deployment, interoperability, connectivity, cyber defense, and compliance. The Niagara Framework 4.13 was already a groundbreaking solution, and now the Niagara Framework 4.14 is available with new features that push the boundaries of evolution even further:

  • New HTML5 Web Views allow easier deployment, visualization choices, and secure connectivity.

  • Brick Schema Tag Dictionary enables greater interoperability. For example, energy management consultants and those executing sophisticated analytics can access building data enriched with standardized tagging.

  • BACnet Protocol Revision 16 Update supports new configurations for binary output lighting, access doors, load control, pulse converters, added interface value properties, and more.

  • Unit Test Public APIs are available to the developer community to assist in writing unit tests, particularly for testing within a running Niagara Station.

  • GAuth Enrollment Workflow

  • ISA 62443-4 Certification: The ISA 62443-2-1-2018 certification ensures that Tridium processes meet all requirements defined by ISA “Security for Industrial Automation and Control Systems Part 4-1,” which includes secure product development lifecycle requirements, such as security requirements definition, security design, secure implementation (including coding guidelines), verification and validation, patch management, and product end-of-life.

  • Certificate Signing Service: This allows for establishing, monitoring, and renewing Niagara Installation’s PKI at scale and with ease, enforcing secure communication and maintaining a strong security posture.

The Niagara Framework 4.14 with its new features is just a stepping stone toward Niagara’s commitment to continue evolving across the five dimensions of deployment, interoperability, connectivity, cyber defense, and compliance.
